Healthy chicken shawarma is a fantastic alternative to store-bought shawarma. It’s delicious, highly nutritious, and perfect for dieting, weight loss, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Ingredients

g400 chicken breast, sliced

2 tsp olive oil

1 tsp paprika

1 tsp tomato paste

1 tsp dried coriander

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp ground cardamom

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of 1 small lemon

1 tbsp yogurt (for marinating the chicken)

2 whole wheat tortillas or flatbreads

1–2 tbsp light mayonnaise (for serving)

Method

Mix the chicken slices with olive oil, paprika, tomato paste, coriander, garlic powder, cardamom, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and yogurt. .

Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until fully cooked and lightly browned, about 8–10 minutes.

Spread mayonnaise on the tortillas, add the cooked chicken and any healthy toppings you like, then roll the shawarma.

Heat the sandwiches for 1 minute on each side until the bread is slightly toasted.

Serve hot with a colorful side salad.
